You can use the Rules - Wait Time settings on a pay rate sheet to control how long an employee can be paid for waiting between visits. Follow these steps to find and configure the settings.
Find the Rules - Wait Time settings
To access the wait time rules for a pay rate sheet:
Click Settings, then click Finance.
Click Travel, then click Pay rate sheets.
Click into the relevant rate sheet.
Click Revisions.
Change the rate sheet view from General to Rules - Wait time.
Understand the fields
Once you are in the Rules - Wait time view, you'll see the following fields:
From date — the date from which this change should take effect.
Maximum wait time — the maximum wait time between calls that will be paid.
Wait time: Hourly Rate — the rate at which the employee is paid for their wait time.
How wait time is calculated
Wait time is the gap between visits, minus the travel time between them.
📌Note: The maximum wait time caps the amount of wait time an employee can be paid for, regardless of the actual gap between visits.
For example, if there is a 1-hour duration between Visit A and Visit B, but it took 5 minutes to travel from A to B, the total wait time would be 55 minutes. However, if the maximum wait time is set to 30 minutes, the employee will only be paid for 30 minutes of that duration.
