Set up preferences to restrict visit allocation

Steps to create and configure preferences that control which employees can be allocated to a visit.

Written by Lucy Robbie

You can use preferences to restrict visit allocation by matching specific criteria between service users and employees. Follow the steps below to set up your preferences.

Create a preference

To create a new preference question, follow these steps:

  1. Click Settings, then click Rostering.

  2. Click Preferences.

  3. Click the + icon.

  4. Add your question, for example, "Does the client have a cat or dog?"

  5. Click Save.

Apply preferences to client and employee records

Once a preference has been created, you can apply it to both client and employee records.

📌Note: Once preferences are set up, the values must match between the service user and the employee. If they don't match, you'll receive a planning rule failure and won't be able to allocate the employee to the visit.

Employee

  1. Click HR, then click Employee.

  2. Click Find, then locate the relevant employee.

  3. From the employee tabs, select Preferences.

  4. Answer the questions using the dropdown menu.

Service user

  1. Click Service User, then click Service User.

  2. Click Find, then locate the relevant service user.

  3. From the service user tabs, select Preferences.

  4. Answer the questions using the dropdown menu.
